“Your Birth, Your Voice: Creating an Intentional Birth Plan”

A birth plan is about more than writing down a list of preferences. It’s an opportunity to think about what matters to you, understand your options, and feel more prepared to make decisions as your birth unfolds.

During this Mother’s Tea, we’ll talk through some of the choices you may encounter during labor and birth, what you might want to include in your birth plan, and how to communicate your wishes with your birth team. We’ll also talk about staying flexible when birth takes an unexpected turn, while still keeping your voice at the center of your care.

Whether you already have a birth plan started or have no idea where to begin, come with your questions and leave with a clearer idea of what you want your birth plan to say.

Tiffany Prow, JD, is the Administrator of TruLiving Birth Center and a mother of five. With a professional background in law, education, and advocacy, Tiffany has spent much of her career helping people understand their options, ask good questions, and make informed decisions.

At TruLiving, she works closely with midwives, birth professionals, and families while helping oversee the day-to-day operations of the birth center. She is especially passionate about informed consent and helping expectant parents understand that they can be active participants in decisions surrounding their pregnancy and birth.

TruLiving Birth Center is the only freestanding birth center in the Chippewa Valley, providing families with a warm, welcoming alternative to hospital birth and a place where they can feel heard, informed, respected, and supported.
